FLUTE MAINTENANCE

BodyFlute Player
After playing your flute, wipe off the body with a chemically-treated polishing cloth to remove hand acid and foreign matter. This will keep the outer surface clean and prevent tarnish.

Keys
The key mechanism is delicate and should be handled with care. Be sure to avoid bending the keys during assembly and disassembly. The keys should be lubricated at least every 6 months.

Bore
After playing your flute, swab the inside to remove moisture. We recommend the
Pad-Saver® swab for this purpose. This special swab removes the moisture from the pad surfaces as well as the bore.

Pads
Flute pads should be cleaned weekly with "pad papers". These special papers will remove moisture and foreign matter from the pad's surface to prolong the life of the pad. If a pad becomes torn or damaged, it should be replaced by a Roberson's Music repair technician.
