DRUM
MAINTENANCE
Heads
Drum heads are made of plastic and can be cleaned with standard household
(non-abrasive) spray cleaners and a rag. Cleaning the heads will remove
dirt and foreign matter from the playing surface. The bottom head is much
thinner than the top. Be careful when placing the drum onto the stand
to avoid puncturing the bottom head.
Tuning Rods
The "tuning rods" should be lubricated about every 2 months. We recommend
"tuning slide grease"(used by trumpet players) for this purpose.
Finish
The outer surface of most snare drums today is chrome. This should be
wiped off with a chemically-treated polishing cloth to remove hand acid
and foreign matter.
